Genesis

1 In the beginning there was void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the lights that has seized to exist, fell from the heart of darkness.

2 And the lights collided, to make form, and shape, and divided the colors distinct and vague.

3 And from the colors, shaped, came the image to being. And the lights said let there be depth, and shade: and there was depth to the picture to come alive.

4 And the lights made land bare, but fertile and the earth was born.

5 And the Blue embraced the land to form sea, ocean and river.

6 And, from the land, rose the green inside and out to bring the leaves onto the face of the earth.

7 And the lights divided on the earth, to make day, day and night, night.

A New Decade

I just realized that in a couple of months, I would be entering a new decade of my life. So now I have no option but to stop and start asking what I had accomplished (just because the list would be ridiculously (did i spell that right) shorter and what I did not accomplish-list).

Once I think about the accomplishment and all this, I just want to scream (at myself), cut this crap! I don't really strike myself as the accomplishment type. My life goes on. I learn stuff, mostly the hard-way; and my life goes on.

There's no accomplishment, there's just much less days to live.

And there's still no meaning attached to so many things that others claim to have meaning.

And I'm still not half as wise as I thought I, five years ago, thought I would be when I'm this age.

And I still give a wrong answer to "how old are you?". I feel at least 7 years younger. It's absurd.

Age is a strange concept, adopted and nurtured by humanity itself.

I remind you, this is not the diary of me going insane.

It's Scary

to go back to the same place and know that none of what you felt there will you feel again.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum*

*Does "the" get capitalized?

"Am I part of the cure, or am I part of the disease?" Mneh, no philosophical shit today :D

A funny thing happened on the way to the forum is actually a name of a movie.

Seriously,
today i decided to look nice. I wait for my friend and his fiance to come pick me up from the street corner and four different cars stop thinking I'm a prostitute. Is this what I get for wearing a long black coat and dark colored lipstick?

My hair is still curly and short ya3ni, I dont look as nice, or too flake as a prostitute.

A friend of mine says they come in all shapes.

It's funny...
I dont know if I'll ever wear lipstick on my way out again.

Oh Cairo, how i love you! hehehehe

You Belong Somewhere

To someone I love who is not likely to be reading this at any given point.

I know you don’t like to listen to a man preaching. From time to time you have to listen to yourself preach, though.

You sing on your own and you think you don’t belong.
Think again.
I know you belong somewhere, somewhere.
I know you belong somewhere.

That under this sky, there’s a little white castle in the horizon where you’ll be happy. It’s not heaven, I know you don’t believe in it, and neither do I.
But here.

In your only fifty years of solitude, you know you have found happiness. You sound as bitter as sugarless sugar. And I can listen to you like this for hours and hours.

You say, there’s no hope in my generation, there is no hope in any generation, to understand, to feel, to walk in downtown Cairo barefoot and hug the street.
Remember your words, M., remember your words.

Consider this,
If you can make me laugh, and I can’t make you smile. It’s only because my sense of humor is lame and you know it.
You’re the actor on his stage.
I have always been the audience. Expect no joke of me, I am senseless but I will listen.
To your bitterness of fifty years.

I only hoped you’d listen to my breath. And realize. That when they’re all gone, in you, there’s still life.

You belong Somewhere.
