طريق اللي يروح وهيفضل دايماً عايز يرجع

A good friend of mine says that Oedipus, in his own production of it, would be wearing a shirt that says "I killed my father, I married my mother". In an equally fatal and cynical sense, this blog is a shirt that spells my fate on it!

I AM leaving. I've always obsessed about leaving, not wanting to leave. Being scared to leave and come back. Thinking that leaving will always be a dream that I'm never going to fulfill because I'm too scared, too safe, too in love with my home.

I'm leaving. For good. Leaving this place with everything I love about it, everything I hate about it as well.
Even now, that I'm still not gone, I'm already looking forward to coming back. Just knowing that I'm leaving for good makes me miss all those places, those smells. Downtown, and home, and my street, and my car (that my family will probably be selling - the car that I learned how to drive on, my only reference to driving). and it forces me to grow.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum*

*Does "the" get capitalized?

"Am I part of the cure, or am I part of the disease?" Mneh, no philosophical shit today :D

A funny thing happened on the way to the forum is actually a name of a movie.

Seriously,
today i decided to look nice. I wait for my friend and his fiance to come pick me up from the street corner and four different cars stop thinking I'm a prostitute. Is this what I get for wearing a long black coat and dark colored lipstick?

My hair is still curly and short ya3ni, I dont look as nice, or too flake as a prostitute.

A friend of mine says they come in all shapes.

It's funny...
I dont know if I'll ever wear lipstick on my way out again.

Oh Cairo, how i love you! hehehehe

The Coming Back

So, after asking a couple of people in a form of a mini-survey...turns out that I am alone.
I am the only one who comes back to Cairo and feel as if I never left.

Maybe I didn't stay abroad for as long as most of them (5 different people).

I am happy to come back. One day, I'll go back to New York, it's such a pretty city. I am happy to be back here, though.

Me and Gogo went around in the streets of Mohandeseen doing nothing, being crazy and natural high. Poor Gogo is so ill.

I was thinking of creating another blog, journal of whatever. This blog has been getting many many readers. But I dont know, I belong here...my blog feels like home. It's strange. I try to change the way it looks sometimes, and the color-scheme but I can't. It looks as if someone had redecorated your whole room that it doesnt feel like your room anymore.
I really love this space.

Funny thing, I have readers that are not Egyptian. I look at the little map thing and it makes me wonder. The idea is nice, though. Someone in..I dont know what, Greenland, has been reading an entry I have written.

There's no punch-line for today.
